Buckets and Buckets: 2005 Sand Sculpture World Championships, Canada

Yes, it’s coming. The Harrisand World Championships of Sand Sculpture are returning to British Columbia this September, promising to bring the most talented and creative sand sculptors from around the world. Expect no bucket-made sandcastles here. These people bring it.

The competition takes place this year at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort, which offers both comfortable lodging as well as a full-service spa. Rates range between $200-$400 per person for a 3-night stay. Admission to the World Championships of Sand Sculpture is only $7 for adults. The competition runs from September 6-11, but the professional sand sculpture exhibitions alongside the competition run until October 10.

    Hey Alex,

My family and I spent a summer vacation at Harrison Hot Springs. This was probably 20 years ago, but I still have many fond memories. I remember building sand castles on their beach.

    Great post!
