“A Loaf of Bread, A Jug of Wine” and… Where’s “Thee?” :: Soif de Coeur Wine

How often have you drowned your sorrows in a bottle of wine because the S.O.B. never called back like he promised? Or just because it was another Saturday night that found you home alone & totally dateless? Well, leave it to the romantic French to come up with an answer. Hopefully, some wine company in Napa will copycat the idea for the local lovelorn.

“SOIF DE COEUR” (Thirst of the Heart), developed by a French company, is trying to help singles find romance with a new line of rosé, red or white wines that contain a unique code hidden in their labels. After drinking the bottle, you’ll be able to register the code on their Website in the hope of finding your perfect match. Simply type in your age, sex and which sex you would like to meet and the company will link you up with someone who also bought a bottle of ‘Soif de Coeur’ wine.

The bottles, in girly pink or boyish blue, are on sale in supermarkets around France, Belgium and Switzerland and the producers are hoping to sell in Japan and Russia soon. Since it was launched in France in March, 400,000 bottles have been sold, and who knows how many love-connections have been made?

Soif de Coeur is not just another bottle of wine, it is also a genuine lifestyle in itself.
