Bio: Maureen Littlejohn is an award-winning travel journalist who has been practicing her craft since the 1980s. Her career includes stints as a daily newspaper reporter and lifestyle feature writer, TV music critic, editor and managing editor of numerous consumer and trade magazines. Currently she has been focusing on freelance writing for a number of publications including the Smithsonian’s Museum of the North American Indian magazine, Convene (the magazine of the Professional Convention Managers Association), Flare and Travel & More.
The subjects Maureen has specialized in over the years also include entertainment, health, beauty, fashion, fitness and lifestyle. She has interviewed hundreds of stars, including Madonna, Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson and Joni Mitchell; authors such as John Irving; icons such as Gloria Steinem; and foodie gurus such as New York’s famous chocolatier Jacques Torres. Her travels have taken her to places as far flung as Nunavut, past the Arctic Circle, to the Himalayan Mountains in India, to the Amazon Basin of Ecuador.
Based in Toronto, Maureen spends her spare time exploring the city with her little French Bulldog Lola.
