World’s Best Cities for Travelers: Travel & Leisure Awards

Drum roll, please…. According to 11th annual readers poll of Travel + Leisure Magazine’s, the most popular city in the world for travelers is Florence, Italy. Rome is #2; Bangkok, Thailand, is #3; last year’s winner, Sydney, Australia, is now #4; and Chiang Mail, Thailand is #5.

These are followed by: Cape Town, South Africa as #6; Buenos Aires, Argentina is #7; New York City is the best in America for the 6th consecutive year as #8; Beirut, Lebanon is #9; and San Francisco is #10. NOTE: The 23,000 reader surveys were tabulated before fighting broke out between Lebanon and Israel.

Other categories include best domestic airline –– won by JetBlue, hotels — won by the Singita Private Game Reserve, Sabi Sands, South Africa; and islands –– won by Bali. Read them all here.
