Win/Win for The Strip: Wynn Las Vegas
The man who brought us the opulence of the Mirage, Treasure Island and the Bellagio has outdone himself. Steve Wynn, uber promoter, just unveiled Wynn Las Vegas — a $2.7 billion, 217-acre, 49-story, 2716-room, copper-colored, curved structure, now deemed the world’s most expensive casino resort.
No stranger to generating headlines, Wynn told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that his resort is “more complex than any other structure in the history of the world.” Maybe so. Maybe not.
But this larger-than-life resort features a 180-foot man-made mountain of pine trees, a 70-foot waterfall, a 3-acre lake, 18-hole designer golf course, art gallery filled with European masters, and hotel rooms that cost $1 million each to build. Minimum nightly fee is just $230. And for shopping hounds, note that Wynn Las Vegas features the only Manolo Blahnik shoe store west of Manhattan. Reason enough to shop ’til you drop.
