The Sideways Breakfast: Dungeness Crab Omelette, The Oak Room, SF

I’d had my share of omelettes across the globe. Though I’ve never paid $18 for one, the Dungeness Crab Omelette at the historic Oak Room in the Westin St. Francis Hotel on Union Square in San Francisco sounds like it’s worth every penny.

It starts with Dungeness Cracked Crab, now in season and caught fresh each day in San Francisco Bay. It’s scrambled with Asparagus, Sonoma Jack Cheese, Rosemary Roasted Potatoes and your choice of toast.

The Oak Room dates back nearly a century. Today, it hosts breakfast delights and a full buffet. For dinner and cocktails, it offers a relaxed retreat featuring seasonal comfort food and a comprehensive California wine list.
