Sunlight Falling on Cedar: El Capitan Canyon, Santa Barbara

Who wouldn’t love spending a night or two at one of these 100 luxury cedar cabins equipped with full bathrooms, linens, towels, kitchenettes, and firepits at the El Capitan Canyon. Seems like you should be using designer marsh- mallows for roasting, doesn’t it?

If you want to rough it a bit, choose a spacious 12′ x 14′ classic safari tent, built on raised wooden decks, with comfortable queen beds and down comforters. There are 26 of them. Bathrooms with showers are a few steps away. I’ve stayed in a tent like this in Yosemite’s Camp Curry Village and it was very pleasant.

And all of this is just steps from the beach, hiking and biking trails, horseback riding lessons, a canyon massage, and a summer concert series featuring blues, jazz and bluegrass music that accompanies your fireside organic dinner.
