On The Low Down For Wine Prices: $6/Bottle

An analysis by ACNielsen reveales that varietal wines priced under $6 a bottle are the most popular, but sales of wines that cost $15 and above are experiecing the fastest growth rates.

Another fact of wine life: Tastings are no longer freebies. About half of North American wineries polled by Wine Business Monthly said they charge a tasting fee, with average fees between $3 and $6. We reported recently that most Napa Valley wineries are now charging $10 and up for tastings, appetizers, fancy foo-foo dinners, and more.
