Here is an interesting debate for budding wine enthusiasts. As we learned from our glossary entry, terroir refers to a combination of factors that affect the outcome of a particular group of vines (soil, climate, temperature). Some proponents hold fast to the idea that no two wines will be of the same quality if they originate from different terroirs. Others opt to debunk the myth by stating that the quality of the wine is a direct result of the technology used to produce it. I think we need to do some research of our own in order to offer an informed opinion. Don’t you think? Let’s keep popping those corks until we crack the terroir conundrum.
