Haute Hotel Sandwich :: Century City, Los Angeles

A sandwich is a sandwich is a sandwich….but NOT when it’s made by Chef Vincent Cachot of the Intercontinental Los Angeles at Century City. Born and raised in Paris, it’s possible that Chef Cachot was feeling a little homesick when he introduced his new sandwich menu featuring Poilane’s signature round chewy sourdough loaves that is flown in twice a week from his hometown.

Cachot starts by cutting thick slabs of the bread, which he spreads with sweet French butter and then the real artistry begins.

For breakfast you might want to try the poached egg sandwich, topped with a creamy wild mushroom stew. Later in the day I would suggest the Austrailian Wagyu Philly Cheesesteak covered with Gruyere cheese and sauteed peepers and Vidalia onions.
And I would definitely consider sharing the Balik Smoked Salmon and Sevruga Caviar Sandwich for an appetizer.

Or if you are a “money is no object” diner, ( first off call me for a date) and then you’ll definitely want to indulge in Cachot’s Duck Proscuitto and White Truffle version for $99.00.
