Funky, Hip & Urbane: Opus Hotel, Vancouver, BC

Tucked into trendy Yaletown in Vancouver is this very hip, unique boutique hotel. The Opus Hotel is small. It’s intimate. And it offers all the Zen-coated relaxation one could want. The decor is contemporary comfortable with a variety of room and suite choices for an eclectic clientele, ranging from the business traveler, film industry folk, honeymooners and weekend tourists.

It’s also been names to some of the best lists around:
• ‘Best of the Best’, One of the World’s Top 100 Hotels by Condé Nast Traveler 2005 Magazine,
• Voted one of the Best 500 Hotels in the World by Travel and Leisure Magazine 2006
• “One of Vancouver’s coolest hangouts” by Wallpaper* Magazine.

There’s the standard room decorated in the very latest colors, one featuring a bathroom vanity overlooking the street (window shades are available for the shy guest). Another, dubbed the “Diva Suite,” features funky purple walls and leopard skin upholstery; once occupied by J.Lo, to name one famous Diva.

Tasteful? Very much so!

The Opus Hotel has been shaped from the beginning by manager Daniel Craig. His staff, whose first names Craig repeats with ease, are all friendly and very attractive. Trained by Craig, they add to the quiet sophistication of the place.
