Doing It By The Numbers :: Radisson Lexington Hotel, NYC

The Radisson Lexington Hotel sports some pretty impressive numbers. It’s completed a $20 million renovation — and it shows the moment you enter the redesigned high-tech lobby that’s sleek, fresh and colorful.

It’s got an impressive 511 Lexington Avenue address at 48th Street in the heart of Midtown Manhattan and the fashionable East Side, about six blocks from Times Square and two blocks from 30 Rockefeller Center, home of NBC and The Today Show.

It sports several world cuisine restaurants, a great dance club and superior athletic facilities within a 27-story hotel that’s been a hospitality landmark for decades, now featureing 705 newly renovated guest rooms. Some even have two bathrooms — a luxury I haven’t seen in anything but a hotel suite for far more than we paid.

Its penthouse suite was once home to Joe DiMaggio for the 18 years he played for the New York Yankees — including the time when he was married to Marilyn Monroe — so the Radisson Lex is definitely a Manhattan landmark.

And it holds the honor of being part of the elite Carlson Hotels Worldwide of luxury hotels, which include www.radisson.com , www.parkplaza.com, www.countryinns.com, and www.parkinns.com.

For a great location during your next trip to NYC, don’t stay anywhere but the Radisson Lexington.
