Digital Room Service: Broadband Is Growing

When I got my first laptop, most hotels offered dial-up in your room to check your email or get Web access. But over the past three years, I’ve seen all the big hotel chains upgrade to broadband or even Wi-Fi. (I’ve paid up to $20 for 24 hours or as low as $0.) Now, the trend is growing. According to Instat, broadband-enabled hotels will more than triple by the year 2009 — up to 11.4 percent of properties or 54,000 hotels. Let us know if this is a factor about where you choose to stay.
