Bowling For Noodles: Denzaemon Cafe, Breckenridge, CO

When you think of food choices in Breckenridge, you usually think of steak, burritos, pizza, pasta, salads and such. But if you want to try something new, different, and downright delicious, stop in at Denzaemon Cafe Noodle & Bowl.

This New Style Japanese Cuisine cafe was opened in March 2006 by owner Kaz Sakaguchi, a member of the 1972 Japanese Olympic ski team, who ran a traditional Japanese restaurant here since 1989. This one’s different because its noodle and bowl sauces are based on a secret formula developed and fine-tuned to perfection by Owariya, a soba noodle restaurant in Kyoto, Japan, which has been keeping the traditional taste since 1465 A.D.

Whether you want Udon (wheat flour) or Soba (buckwheat black flour) noodles in your soup, the bowl will warm your soul on a cool summer night or a snowy wintry day. Choose from plain noodles or bowls topped with egg, chicken, soft scrambled egg, beef, vegetable tempura, or shrimp tempura. Everything we had was filling, warming and cooked to perfection in a savory fish based soup.

You can also select Donburi bowls with other choices, daily specials, appetizers, even Mochi Ice Cream in mango, strawberry, cappuccino, green tea or vanilla.
