A Very, Very Good Vodka Fest — With Gin! :: New York City
Last week at Valbella Restaurant in the too-cool-for-school Meatpacking District, I tasted some amazing vodkas. Of the dozens of world class vodkas presented, and many were very, very good, these were my favorites:
• Hamptons Banana Vodka with its yummy, ripe banana nose and it’s long rich finish. It was a 2004 Gold Medal Winner in San Francisco’s World Spirit Competition.
• X-Rated Fusion Liqueur, a sensuous coupling of Ultra Premium French Vodka and Provence Blood Orange mingled with Mango and Passion Fruit. It both tastes and looks divine and is perfect for the summer’s dog days ahead.
• Iceberg Vodka, A pristine blend of Canadian triple rich grains, and the only vodka made with 100% iceberg water. Iceberg has taken home numerous prizes at many international competitions. Loved its pure, clean taste.
(Full disclosure: I never mix my Vodka and Gin so you’re on your own for the Gins…)
• Polished Palate puts on some amazing boozy events so if you’re looking for something to do on The Eve of Mexican Independence, SATURDAY NIGHT, SEPTEMBER 15, 2007, in San Diego they will putting on:
Spirits of Mexico in San Diego
