Think Globally, Buy Art Locally: Sausalito Art Festival, CA

For 54 years, international artists from Holland to Japan have flocked to the Sausalito Art Festival to show their works. In fact, this year, there will be 260 juried artists out of 1,200 applicants, 19 of which are from other countries.

What’s the big attraction? It could be the brilliant fall weather for this Labor Day celebration from September 1st through the 4th along S.F. Bay just north of San Francisco.

It could be the top-name musical stars in a range of genres from rock, jazz, big band, popl, blues, folks and more — like Blood, Sweat and Tears, John Corbett, and Ten Years After.

It could be the great food, public transportation by ferry or bus from San Francisco, with a free festival shuttle from 830 am to 7pm serving the parking lots, downtown Sausalito Ferry and the main gate.

It could be the world-class atmosphere of this international favorite.

It could not be the fact that I lived a few blocks from the fair for a few years.

Tickets: $20 general admission; $10 for Seniors (62 or older); $5 for children 6-12; free for kids under 6.
