Mixing Green With Ocean Blue :: New Cayman Diving Lodge

Everyone who’s been to Grand Cayman knows the name Bob Soto. As one of the pioneers of diving in the Caribbean, he built Bob Soto Reef Divers in the 1970s to what is now an island institution. In fact, my first scuba diving experience was on one of his boats off of Seven Mile Beach in 1981.

Now, his funky, simplistic Cayman Diving Lodge, which was torn apart by Hurricane Ivan in 2004, will be reborn in August 2008 as Cayman’s first Certified Green Resort AND its first luxury ecotourism resort. It will meet green building standards and will be operated in a responsible fashion, mindful of protecting and preserving the natural environment of the Cayman Islands.

This property on the quiet East End will offer 15 one-bedroom condo residential units now for sale, 12 guest rooms and suites, a full service restaurant and bar, renowned Cayman watersports and a dive center, multiple pools, all of the amenities you’d expect from the Cayman Diving Lodge, and more.
