Paragon Tango Departures is a new luxury tango travel company. And yes, it’s all about tango — in Argentina!
Amanda Gary is the force behind Paragon. She previously hosted cycling trips for Butterfield & Robinson in Argentina, Estonia and Italy. The Los Angeles native has replaced her “wheels with heels” to pursue her love of the tango.
The eight-night adventure begins in an Italian palazzo-cum-hotel in an historic Buenos Aires neighborhood. There you’ll spend four nights, taking lessons every morning and afternoon. Other activities include Spanish classes, yoga, massage and siestas by the pool. In the evenings, Paragon escorts dancers into the nooks of the neighborhood. From the best steak in the city to a chef’s private home, each evening is unique. Ending, of course, at a milonga (dance hall) to connect and dance with the locals.
The second half of the trip moves to a boutique hotel in the art/design center of Buenos Aires. Private lessons at neighboring studios are scheduled to fit, giving dancers time to soak up Buenos Aires on their own. Paragon has arranged an evening fiesta in one of the most classic milongas in town, where the teachers will perform.
