Lake Quinault Lodge in Washington’s Olympic Peninsula invites locals and visitors to another installment of its popular Quinault Quintessentials, a culinary weekend featuring dishes inspired by the Pacific Northwest, where the food is a pretty as the view and you can work off the cals on a fascinating tour of the rainforest. What more could you ask for?

From Jan. 29-31, 2010, guests of Lake Quinault Lodge have the opportunity to spend the weekend with Executive Chef Patrick Norris, tasting and learning about the featured winter flavors of the Northwest. The weekend will feature wine from Cadaretta Winery and Clayhouse Vineyards.

The weekend kicks off on Friday with a Meet the Chef Reception, highlighting a selection of wines, fruit and cheese, from 6-6:30 p.m. On Saturday, Chef Norris will host a Food and Wine Workshop from 2-3 p.m., followed by an elegant four-course dinner with wine pairings from 6-7:30 p.m. The culinary weekend will end with a breakfast buffet with the chef on Sunday from 8-10 a.m.

In conjunction with the event, the resort is offering a “Quinault Quintessentials Culinary Weekend” lodging package. For $499* for the entire weekend, guests will receive a two-night stay in a Main Lodge View or Lakeside room, Welcome Wine Basket with two Lake Quinault wine glasses, recipe cards of the food demonstrations and access to all the weekend’s culinary festivities. For an additional fee, guests can opt to stay in a fireplace room.

In between the weekend’s culinary festivities, guests can unwind and take in the stunning scenery around Lake Quinault. Guests can embark on a rainforest tour, which takes them deep into the emerald Quinault Rainforest—one of only three temperate rainforests in North America. With access to surrounding wildlife and more than 250 miles of trails, Lake Quinault Lodge is the perfect starting point for an outdoor adventure or a relaxing retreat.
