Don’t Fuggataboutit: San Gennaro Festival, September 15-25, NYC

There are neighborhood street festivals. Then there are annual street festivals that draw 1 million people. And the 78th Annual Feast of San Gennaro is definitely the latter. In fact, it’s New York City’s oldest, biggest and best one, converging on Little Italy to honor the patron saint of Naples. It’s got parades. It’s got entertainment. It’s got an outstanding variety of foods, including the Cannoli Eating Contest. It starts Thursday, Sept. 15 and continues for 11 days through Sun., September 25, 2005. Save me some calzone and gnocchi.
