The World’s Longest Cable Car Crossing A World-Class Bay: Nha Trang, Vietnam

I’ve always been a sucker for seeing the world’s: tallest, most expensive, scariest, fastest… actually, anything that sounds like a Guinness Book of World Records contender is right up my alley.

So topping my must-see list is the world’s longest cable car to cross the sea, now running from Nha Trang to Vinpearl Land in Vietnam. The new 10,859-foot long cable car just finished its 100 hours of test trips and is now open for business.

The nine-minute ride sure beats hailing a cab when trying to get to Vinpearl Land, which is located on Hon Tre Island in southeastern Vietnam. But the real reason you want to go there is that it’s considered one of the 29 most beautiful bays in the world, with gorgeous white sandy beaches and GUARANTEED sunshine for 300 days of the year. My upscale hotel choice would be the five-star Sofitel Vinpearl Resort & Spa.

One funny aside: on their Website, the Sofitel proudly lists among its many amenitites: “Audible smoke alarms.” Well, Thank God they don’t get the cheaper silent variety.
