I once rode the elevator in the celebrated Chateau Marmont Hotel in West Hollywood with model turned actress Lauren Hutton. You might know it as the place where John Belushi overdosed. But whatever the history of this seven story white castle-type hotel overlooking the Sunset Strip and built over 75 years ago, it’s been revitalized with the hip Bar Marmont. Run by restaurateur Sean MacPherson, it’s a dark, romantic joint serving all kinds of food and attracting beautiful people who like to be seen at this scene. The average dinner costs about $35.
Order a martini, a mojito, or a Manhattan. Savor one of LA’s best burgers. But do come and enjoy the nightly parade of stars — inside and out.
