Blow Bubbles in Borneo: Sipidan Water Village Resort
If you don’t mind traveleling half-way around the world to a tropical paradise, then fly across to the Southwestern Pacific to Sipadan Water Village Resort. Situated on Mabul Island surrounding the Celebes Sea on the east coast of Sabah (Borneo), Malaysia, it’s comprised of 35 rooms, including 2 deluxe, 27 standard and 6 junior water cottages. Each June, Photo Week attracts scuba divers, above and below water photographers, and camera companies who capture the spectacular marine life in even more incredible images.
Friends of mine have dived here and say it’s an amazing place. Most dive sites are a five- to 30-minute boat ride from the resort. Sipadan Island is world renowned for its unsurpassed beauty and amazing marine life, including sea turtles, jacks and barracudas. Daily guided dives include introductory, certification and night excursions.
