So while Modern Bride Magazine’s ninth annual survey of 6,000 travel agents lists the Top 10 places to honeymoon, writer Carol Sottili of the Washington Post added her list of cheap alternatives for anyone who doesn’t want to start their married life in debt.
The #1 honeymoon destination was Hawaii for the 9th consecutive year, with the Grand Wailea on Maui (at $405/night and up) getting the top spot for its spa, while the Four Seasons Hualalai on the Big Island (at $625/night and up) won praise for its incredible bathrooms. But an affordable alternative is a B&B for $99/night near Maui’s Kamole beaches through GLAD — Global Adventure Travel.
