US and European representatives from France, Spain and Portugal have come together to join forces in an attempt to protect the use of the names of wines that rightly belong to their respective regions such as Napa, Porto, Sherry and Champagne. Technically, only wines produced in these regions can bear the name on the label, but it is not quite the case and some producers try to fool consumers using these regions in their marketing. Via
